It's official!

We have the keys to our new home! We closed on the exact date that was on our contract. The movers started loading our furniture that was in storage today and they will finish and get on the road tomorrow. That gives us some time to get some projects done at the house before we are inundated with boxes.

I don't know how much more I'm going to blog now that the house is built. But I will probably continue until I have some decent pictures of how things look when we are finally moved in.

Carpet, flooring, and kitchen

I'm going to delete the last post. (If I can figure out how to do it.) Somehow, not all the pictures got posted, and I forgot to write captions.

Here is the complete set of pictures.

More pictures

Grrr! I uploaded all of these once already. But somehow lost them. Here goes a second try! They are big pictures, so they take forever to upload, too!

More pictures from while I was gone

I might as well post these. It is harder for me to do because they are on Gregg's computer. I have to upload them one at a time. Also, I still don't know how to change an existing post. I wanted to add these to the post where I put the other pictures. Oh well.

Walk-through is scheduled!

Well, we are getting very close now. It is hard to believe!
I drove by yesterday and the the driveway and porch stoops were poured. Some guys were finishing up the landscaping.

I didn't want to take pictures because they were working. I think we will go up tomorrow and take some pictures.

The last time we walked through it (last weekend), there wasn't much left to be done inside. The floor and carpet were down. The water was finally out of the guest bathtub. I don't remember the stove, so I don't think it was in. But I took a peek inside the dishwasher. It is going to be fun to have brand new appliances!

Oh, yeah. The fridge wasn't in either.

But the walk-through is for this coming Friday! We have signed the paperwork for the movers! We have turned in the paperwork for the mortgage. Whoo-hoo! This is actually happening!

On the downside, the "pewter" metal trim is up on the front and we are not thrilled with the color combination. We trusted their designer to pick colors that went with the pewter and we should have double checked it ourselves. Oh well, maybe the colors will grow on us???

Pictures will be coming. I promise! And this time, there will (presumably) be no mess, no dust, no dirt. I'm looking forward to seeing this place cleaned up, too.

Here are some photos that Gregg took while I was out of town. A lot got done while I was away! :-)

On track for closing date

Gregg says they are still on track for closing on the 30th I have been away since December 18th, so I haven't seen the latest progress. I've heard that the floor is not in but the light fixtures are. The tub is in but the vanity sinks are not. Gregg has locked in a pretty good mortgage rate, so that is good news. I'll have pictures by this weekend for sure.
